[The only thing that shows up on the video feed is a sigil on a flag of some kind hung up on a wall--it fills the whole screen and the camera is set up purposefully for it does not move the entire time. See icon for exact image of the sigil.]
Today is the Feast of Annunciation.
In Firenze, that also means the beginning of the New Year. I realize that many have already celebrated such an event and I will admit at the time it befuddled me that so many celebrated it during that time, and then again the Eastern tradition was on yet another day altogether. So it was celebrated twice here with such a diversity of peoples. But to me the beginning of the year starts this day. I realize it seems odd to celebrate the new year right in the middle of a month but it is how we've done it for years. Call it a religious fault, if you will, though that may be inaccurate it does fall on the celebration on the Annunciation of Christ--likely on purpose.
Either way... I quite like the tradition.
Ezio, enjoy the grapes and strawberries while they last. I won't be asking for them again anytime soon. And I imagine they are very hard to grow at this time of the year.
Arcivescovo Maxwell, I will be coming to the church to pay my respects. I assume you still celebrate the day despite the chronology differences?
Su Altezza Alessandro, Cardinale Sforza--will you hold true as well? Shall I see the two of you today?
La sicurezza e la pace sulla città ei suoi abitanti. Potrebbe essere il giorno luminoso e felice per tutti. Buon anno.

Date: 2010-03-27 06:33 am (UTC)What could possibly be wrong? I've been transported, without any choice in the matter, to a all but dead city currently inhabited by packs of fools.
I cannot imagine a better use of my time than the monotony this place has to offer.

Date: 2010-03-27 06:36 am (UTC)I know how you are feeling, Ezio. Please though... please find a way to overcome this. If you do not I fear it will eat you alive; and I fear I will not be able to help you... that
Be patient.

Date: 2010-03-27 06:54 am (UTC)I am finding a way out. No one else seems inclined to do so, or has long since given up. I can't stand to wait any longer.
I will not bother you with such things. I am sure you have...other matters to attend to. Sta' attento padre.

Date: 2010-03-27 07:05 am (UTC)And how, pray tell, are you going to go about this? Do you not think others have tried this--and failed? I am not asking you to sit still all day. I am asking you to come up with something useful to put an effort to. So far--you have done nothing here that pleases me!
[He stops abruptly and sucks in a deep breath, upset with himself for going that far. He huffs once, twice, does not correct himself nor apologize; and finally has to end the transmission before he can figure out if he wants to feel guilty or push further.]

Date: 2010-03-27 07:32 am (UTC)Capisco. I will not trouble you any longer.
[The transmission isn't so much cut off as it is violently ended as Ezio throws it to the floor where it stays for the time being.]

Date: 2010-03-27 07:39 am (UTC)[He curses at himself as Ezio declares this and shuts off the communicator forcefully. Damn his stupid mouth for saying such stupid things; damn himself for speaking too quickly and hurting his son. Damn him. He feels so guilty, and now he does not know what to do... other than perhaps try and find Ezio to apologize and reassure him.]
