...perhaps I miss the old routine a bit much. This new one, while nice and cozy, makes only for a decent vacation. Yes, even despite the odd happenstances here and there. It is too...boring.
[He pauses. He's complaining. And he realizes he's turned the communicator without much thinking about it. He was past due for an update anyway, before he discovered for himself just what sort of energy the device packed, and had been thinking about it before he started in on the complaints of this place. Ah well.]
Boring. Listen to me--complaining like some sort of youngster who has nothing better than to get into trouble every day. I converse much too often with giovani here and start to reminiscence on my old lifestyle as if I could get away with what I used to.
[He sighs.] I am getting old. When you start saying 'I'm getting too old for this' it is well past time you are too old for...things.
...Ugh. Now I'm using circular arguments and boring unto death those silly enough to listen to these devices.
[...]
Though I can't help but to miss the action back home. Not just the routine... but the purpose. What purpose is there here?

And why even bother trying not to die? You'll just be brought back. It takes away the pure meaning of life. It makes existence completely pointless. There is no meaning to life, no reason to live.
Before, I had a purpose. Something to sustain me through hard times and not take for granted the times of peace. That has been taken away from me--replaced by little more than the pretense of going through the old motions as if they mean anything anymore.
It is beyond cruel. It is unnatural.

Gotta agrrree with ya there.
If it's a purpose yer lookin' for, though, sittin' arrround and complainin' ain't gonna do ya any good. You gotta find it yerself.
no subject
As I said, though, it is rather pointless compared to the one I had at home.
Why bother protecting people when there's nothing to protect them from?

And don't even get me starrrted on routines, pal. Running a building may not be as bad as running a mercenary agency, but it still turns into hell when ya leave for so much as five minutes with someone else in charge.

That is your own fault for leaving it to the hands of an inexperienced boy. And quite frankly it was no one's fault at all--it was simply bad timing. One can't help the unnatural machinations of this desolate city. In a true society things would not fall apart so simply with just a simple landlord job--there is nothing to that sort of job. Keep residents in line and fix the building. Nothing to it.
Try running an entire city. A very large city. Then you can complain to me. [This is way he allows Lorenzo to complain to him. Otherwise: no. :|]

[ Naja WOULD retort that she was in line to run a nation herself, but yeah. Being a princess =/= important. Totally. And that looking after and fixing the building isn't all she--
...wait, WAIT. HANG ON. ]
Whoa; hold it, pal. What's this about an inexperienced boy?
no subject
I'm saying you chose an inexperienced boy to take your place while you went off on your little vacation. What else did you think I said?
no subject
...how the hell do you know about that? [ THAT WAS CONFIDENTIAL BUSINESS, YO. ]

And show some rrrespect while yer at it.
[ Meanwhile, SOMEONE is going to get a scolding. B| ]
no subject
Not until I am afforded it first, signorina.
[Don't you dare scold my son. That's my job and no one else is allowed to do it. >B|]

And I'm havin' a harrrd time believin' you'd know about my little "assistant" by just "paying attention." Who the hell are you?
[ She doesn't care, she's President Naja and she can do what she wants! >:O ]

Answer that little question on your own and perhaps I'll be impressed enough to lend you a favor or two.
[Not if you've got a blade in your back. >:|]

[ Was that a threat. B|!!! ]

[This is Giovanni actually laughing in your face. Rather genuinely amused and uncontrolled. He won't even bother with a real reply just yet.]
