[Giovanni doesn't seem to be paying attention to the device when it first comes on. It can be noted that instead of his usual white Assassin's garb he is wearing a brown doublet fashioned in a common 15th century style. The outfit is well tailored for the time though emphasizing Giovanni's status as a noble back home. It seems to be what he got from the random item appearance from the other day.
After a moment Giovanni turns to the device. Whatever he was attending to remains off-camera.]
...I suppose the phrase "never look a gift-horse in the mouth" is appropriate these days, no? Though as with everyone else it seems to invite more curiosity and questions concerning our 'generous hosts' than I would like to admit.
At least I have more to keep warm with now, I suppose.
Ezio...? [He pauses and then thinks better of whatever it was he was thinking of saying. He waves a hand dismissively in the air before reaching forward and shutting off the device.]
[[There is also a golden eagle flying on a red and white background--the Auditore sigil--on the main doorway inside the apartment. The banner was the second "gift." Ezio is free to notice this addition to the apartment decor.]]

Minato nods in agreement.]
You won't regret meeting him. He is all of those things, and much more skilled with a sword than I. And he didn't kill me when I managed to coat his kitchen with an explosion of cake batter.
[Minato laughs a bit nervously at the end, there.]

...an explosion of cake batter. [From the blank look on his face one might could infer that he can't decide whether he wants to shake his head and sigh or facepalm or laugh in your face, or better yet a combination of all three. But mostly he just looks like he's keeping his expression utterly neutral.]
[...]
He mentioned wielding a sword that most could not easily wield. I am interested in that a bit, I must admit.

I'm a horrible cook, but I'm slowly getting enough training that I can be successful at some dishes.
[He widens his eyes comically, and then he grins. Giovanni seems to inspire his younger side.]
Oh, yeah! He's only a bit taller than me, and if he stood his sword on the ground, it'd be this--
[Minato uses a hand to gesture above his head somewhat.]
--tall. He effectively has a range of a spear but in the form of a sword. And you'd think he'd be slow because of the size and weight... except he's fast. It's really impressive--as long as you're watching from a safe distance!

[So the man was about Giovanni's height and wielded a ridiculously lengthed longsword or greatsword that was as tall if not taller than the man himself. Giovanni knew how to deal with swords and spears, but a sword that had the length-range of a spear and the mobility of a longsword? That would be interesting.]
Sounds very interesting. I would like to see that.
no subject
[He nods in agreement.]
I hunt with him sometimes. If you want, I'll ask if you can join us.
no subject
It might be to my benefit to join such a group for this. Hunting sounds very beneficial. But I must confess I've not done much hunting other than a bit of hawking back home.
Handling the equipment shouldn't be a problem though.
no subject
We don't have a lot in the way of equipment, actually--at least, not of the ranged sort. I don't know anyone off the top of my head that's an archer, and I'm unskilled at it myself. Most of the people here only used closed ranged weapons, which makes it problematic since even more can't sneak close enough for a kill.
Luckily I know how to use knives for both long and short distance combat. If you want to use your sword to hunt, Angeal can probably offer a few pointers--his sword is much more reasonable than Sephiroth's. Or if you want to learn or need pointers on how to use knives for it, I can help you out.
[Oh, Minato. If only you knew how knowledgeable Giovanni was. And the player can't remember if it was Ezio or Giovanni that mentioned knowing how to use a sword, but if it was Ezio, he figures that Giovanni must know how to use one as well.]

...if you know where to find a crossbow I can help you with the long-range factor. [He'll keep his skills with the throwing daggers to himself for just a little longer.] But otherwise I might just be around for show and backup more than anything. At least at first. [Lair.]
... THIS SOMEHOW DID NOT POST, SORRY. I just saw this tab and was like "DDDDDD:"
[Minato doesn't suspect Giovanni now, but he wasn't Hokage for nothing. He'll eventually notice, given the right situation. Maybe. Possibly. Perhaps?]
Ha, just don't tell it to the others in that way. They'll make you carry the smaller things we bring down. ... Although, I'd much rather see a crossbow in action again, truth be told.
no subject
[Eventually he's bound to.]
As long as I can help it won't be for naught. If you find one I will be glad to show you.

[Minato reaches into his back pocket and pulls out two odd looking daggers, then holds them out to Giovanni.]
I've been giving my friends these. There's one each for you and your son. When I get my powers out, I'll be able to teleport to wherever these daggers are. If you're ever in trouble--or if I need an exit strategy--these tend to come in handy. And I can sense when they're thrown, too. ... Usually.
I'm from an earlier batch of people here, so the doctors know where my chip is. I plan on getting it out soon.
[You're the second person here he's told about the daggers, Giovanni. Somehow, you cause him to want to tell the reason behind them. Probably because you're older and remind him of the father he hoped he seemed to be to Naruto.]
... I'd understand if you're not comfortable with the idea, but I'd be grateful if you did take one.
ugh, sorry.
...I will accept the dagger. And I will give Ezio his as well.
[Giovanni didn't feel right about having such a curious item. He probably would never, ever wear it. But he would not say no to the man's face. He was already being extremely too nice to Giovanni as it was. He felt it would be impolite to say anything else.]
Hahaa, np! .. And wasn't he supposed to be bringing meat, too. OTL
Thank you.
[Minato rubbed the back of his hair a bit nervously, not quite sure what to say.]
At any rate, uh... I'll look around to see if I can find a crossbow for you. Or find someone that can build one.
What? ...he did, didn't he? /confused right about now
[He placed the daggers aside for now and... began wondering how he should entertain his guest. There wasn't exactly a lot of options in this place.]
.... I declare that Minato is wearing a backpack! And the meat was in there, not his hand. OTL
[Hunting party. Meat. He had been so nervous about the daggers that he had forgotten the wrapped meat he had in his backpack. He slipped it off, then, and grinned a bit nervously.]
I completely forgot about the reason why I came here in the first place--the meat. Sorry, it's just that a lot has happened recently....
Ffft. That works, I guess. it's not as if he handed it to Giovanni yet anyway. >.>
[He smiles slightly.]
XD Exactly. We can blame it on the pinepaple. /shot
Funny, how Giovanni said he had forgotten to made him feel better. Minato genuinely liked the man. Who was likely old enough to have been his own father... And he certainly had the air of one, anyways.]
Pineapple is pretty distracting.
X3
[Just idle conversation while he watches.]
no subject
[Idle conversation, perhaps, but Minato was engaged enough with it.]

Over here will be fine. [He waved to the counter. He wasn't sure which cabinets and spaces to trust with storage yet and the counter was bare and all that junk could be done later, dangit.]
/done with certification test and being sick and back to RPing \o/
[He nods, and places the meat down where indicated.]
